Drobni Pijesak Beach: Discover the Hidden Gem of Budva

Nestled along the Budva Riviera, Drobni Pijesak beach is a slice of paradise. Alongside Jaz Beach, it’s one of my absolute favorites. Time slows down here, and after just one day, you’ll feel as refreshed as if you’ve been on vacation for a week!

A Breathtaking Setting

Golden sand, smooth white pebbles, and an unbelievably clear, light blue sea create a stunning landscape. The beach is framed by wild Mediterranean greenery and dramatic white rocks, making it feel like a secluded oasis.

Although the name Drobni Pijesak translates to “Ground Sand,” the beach is actually a beautiful mix of sand and small pebbles. The seabed is crystal clear, revealing mesmerizing underwater views even at great depths. No surprise—it proudly holds a Blue Flag, a symbol of exceptional water and beach quality.

Tranquility and Relaxation

Unlike some of Budva’s busier beaches, Drobni Pijesak is peaceful and uncrowded. There’s not much to do except swim, sunbathe, and snorkel—but honestly, that’s all you need! The water is so clear that snorkeling here is a must.

You can rent a sunbed with an umbrella, or if you prefer, simply lay down your towel and enjoy the soft sand. For a refreshing drink or a delicious meal, visit one of the two beach restaurants: Pura Vida and Smokov Vijenac—both serve great food at reasonable prices.

Getting To Drobni Pijesak

The main downside of this beach is the road to it. Despite the good parking options – there are actually three, costing 5 EUR per day – the road is so steep that you have to drive very, very carefully.

Even though we visited the beach with a baby and a toddler in the back of the car, if you’re traveling with your little ones, I would recommend taking a boat from Budva city center.

Drobni Pijesak is a 20-minute drive from Budva city center, so you can get there by car, taxi, or local bus. Once you see it, no matter how you get there, I’m sure you’ll want to return.
