Queen’s Beach shines as one of the Mediterranean’s top gems. First, imagine an emerald-green sea glinting in the sunlight. Then, feel the large-grain sand under your feet. In fact, this could be your spot for carefree, joyful moments.

Tucked in a cozy bay, Queen’s Beach sits framed by a lush cypress and olive tree park. From its shores, you’ll catch breathtaking views of Budva’s old town and St. Stefan island.

Spanning just 200 meters, this beach may be small, but its charm is huge. Best of all, it’s rarely crowded, letting you soak up its peaceful vibe.

Exclusive yet accessible

Once reserved for elite guests of the 5-star Aman hotel, Queen’s Beach was a private retreat. However, after a legal dispute shut the hotel, it now welcomes everyone.

Of course, this shift has ups and downs. For starters, no hotel means no facilities—no water, toilets, showers, sunbeds, or cafes. Therefore, pack your essentials! Nearby, though, you can walk 10 minutes to tasty spots like LaMar at Przno Beach or Olive at St. Stefan for a meal.

On the flip side, fewer visitors mean you experience Queen’s Beach in its pure, natural state. Plus, it’s free—no more 240 EUR entry fee!

Rich history and natural beauty

Queen’s Beach belongs to a grand estate once home to the Yugoslav royal family, the Karadjordjevics. Specifically, this sprawling property includes Queen’s Beach, King’s Beach, St. Stefan island, and an 18-acre park.

The story behind the name reflects the historic gender division that resulted in separate beaches for the royal couple – the queen and the king both had their own designated beaches.

Equally impressive, the surrounding park, built for the royal family, is as spectacular as the beach itself. And it’s perfect for an unforgettable walking tour. Alongside great number of cypresses, pines and olive trees, you’ll find a variety of unique tree species from around the world, including eucalyptus, mimosa, agave, and many more. On my visits, I always gather a few laurel leaves to dry and use in my cooking, which brings back wonderful memories of this magical place.

How to get to the Queen’s beach?

First off, it’s a quick 15-minute drive from Budva’s city center to Queen’s Beach. Conveniently, a big parking lot awaits if you’ve got a car. Prefer public transport? Then, a local bus gets you there in 25 minutes. Of course, taxis are another easy option.

Finally, once you arrive, dive into the beauty and history of Queen’s Beach. Let its calm magic leave you with unforgettable memories of Budva.
